Citrix ShareFile (Raleigh) Review 4th of July – Analysis of Workplace (VERY GOOD!)

  1. Please excuse the horriblde format.  wordpress has countless times hung up not letting me post ptroprtly.begin:   My younger brother works here, so recently I was invited to the rooftop July 4th fireworks viewing event.
Prior to that, I was approached by security rather quickly… I was hoping for a joke about my professional
cameras and corporate espionage, but there was no joking until it was established that I “had business” being
there. The security officers, including (especially) the chief, were very friendly after that was
straightened out; I was even offered an offical tour of the facility (to take place at some future, yet to be
pre-appointed time; not on the spot that evening on July 4th; lol).

Judging by the solid fundamentals of the parent company; based on the grounds of everything I know from what
I’ve heard and witnessed myself, it sounds to me (on the aforementioned bases) like an exceptionally great
work environment – psychologically, aesthetically, and financially… with a gym and special desks that can be
smoothly and quietly raised up (motorized) in order to allow their employees to “Stand UP!” whenever they
choose, to improve their health. I don’t know whether it’s encouraged in any way particularly, but it’s
definitely not mandatory…

(More and more studies are concluding that we, the citizens of wealthy nations, have now brought “desk
surfing” (or is it couch surfing?) into the realm of almost being a no-joke, for-real epidemic health crisis.

If I could offer only ONE piece of advice to EVERY American, it would be to supplement our weekly schedules
with at least three days of 45-60 minute sessions of cardiovascular (“aerobics” exercise, of any and all
kinds, whenever possible.) Perhaps Citrix management themselves shares the same philosophy and applies it in
their own lives… it is becoming well-known that exercise not only increases blood flow and physical health,
but also boosts brain function – particularly with problem solving and “divergent thinking”.

Just the FACT that this company has literally done these things – all while making a profit, too… not just
talking about it or holdng public meetings (or doing PR news releases on it) … for me, doing the right thing
always speaks louder than any line item ever could in this siutation: Because, quite simply, in my opinion,
healthy employees are happy employees are productive and collaborative employees – all this being a somewhat
consistent recipe for financial survival and success, we might also add “loyal” and “financially stable”
employees o=to the list, too..

I’m sure the anti-American pundits have argued for eternity over questions such as whether “market forces”
(profit motive) causes companies to do things like actually *care* about the well-being of their employees,
rather than seeing them as disposable commodities with limited lifespans (as if they had incorporated “planned
obsolescence” like washing machines or car parts!) Please note, if you’ve managed to read this far (thank
you! I appreciate it 🙂 – note that these are not MY opinions, but they are somewhat common opinions even in
America, despite being very anti-American, thanks to the presence of “opinion makers” on tv/radio/etc. – Also
please note that I find argument and debate to be healthy and good brain exercise – but ONLY if all parties
involved are able to participate without having an emotional breakdown, feeling personally assaulted, and so
on – the newer studies that focus on the phenomenon of public universities banning free speech, creating safe
spaces, and so on, is quite possibly inducing our upcoming generation(s) to think pathologically… There is
much study around this, and if there’s just ONE intellectual out there reading this (that’s you!) I highly
recommend you look it up and carefully read the true science behind what’s happening to the country how its
enemies – be they within or without – have and are successfully polarizing and paralyzing us, as if with venom
from a stinger, so that if we aren’t careful, we could find ourselves impotent and unable to project any force
at all should the requirement be foisted upon us – this would become, I believe, one of the worst moments in
human history.

But it still would just be more of the same – human history, like a program stuck in a loop….

Whenever you hear the pundits say things like companies in a free nation only take care of their “resources”
for the same reason they make sure to change the oil in their backup generators on schedule whether they’ve
been lit up or not… Just think about this: It’s nothing more than an academic question, and absolutely
moot.

No wait! It IS more than that. It is no less than intentional subterfuge being implanted through, say,
television “programming” – almost like a master boot record virus that can take over many individuals and get
them to – and this is the sad part – get them to work for NO PAY AT ALL (I say “work” for no pay, but perhaps
a better word than “work” would be “bidding” – I suppose a DDoS attack, employing the naive and servile of the
human population (often, very good people with some of the most beautiful and intelligent minds – and with
honestly only the best intentions – that is th sad part about it, that they are effectively the unwitting
perpetrators/orchestrators of their own future demise)…. ?!

How can this be? I suggest that all the “pay” such persons would require would be just a few basic
programming tweaks, easily adjusted and tightly tuned right down to each individual’s personal “spectrum” so
to speak (another analogy or theoretical idea would be advertising – that is, PPC, cookies, tracking,
especially WiFi/BT & GPS tracking, shopping cards/credit cards, to say nothing of netflix and television,
youtube, facebook.. all of these things that use highly valued, closely-guarded, industrial trade secret
algorithms in a business of Big Dada (I think I overheard once, that Big Dada was good old Uncle Sam’s much
more clever, younger descendant (“Big Brother”) other than some vague notion about playing their “role” in
building a future Utopian world full of “justice” – that alone is enough to fill and brighten the lives of
entire nations of millions of people who feel endlessly depressed, spending billions on publicly traded
chemistry experiments; entire industries of professional pill-poppers as the markets wait for FDA’s decision
on it (nevermind insider trading on that stuff)

In my mind, since the Company MUST survive as a rule, in order to exist (for, without the existence of the
Company, the benefits, products, services, etc. said Company provides not only to its consumers and end-users,
but its employees, manufacturers, vertical and horizontal integration, supply chainsfor the health and needs
of their employees this “not because they actually CARE about their “human resources” (a term that almost
seems designed to – and, lol, almost exclusively, that type of criticism (against “capitalism” or truly,
America itself) is coming from enemy agents of our great nation, who wish to destroy it – whether for one
purpose or another, the most common (and the most human) motive for such behavior (murder/war) is an effort
to… well, to survive!

In today’s mismatched global economy of multiple “worlds” (almost literally), the very word itself, “survival”
– whether you’re speaking of an individual, or a nation (social group comprised of individuals, to include
corporations – I always used to laugh a little when I first learned about that, and started noticing that the
hosts and guests at FBN, MSNBC
It’s not mandatory at all to do so… no forced-march treadmills; lol… However, it’s all of these details –
and many others I can’t mention w/o going on and on; lol…

I fully embrace the somewhat recent trend of looking at the notion of work consisting of “sitting down all
day, every day” to be the modern equivalent of smoking. The way I see it, personally, it’s a total time-saver
and HUGE life improvement if you can be even just a little less “sedentary” – especially if it helps you to
incorporate new, healthy habits into your daily routine, rather than just another ‘throwaway’ passing fad or
trend:

The diseases and health problems caused by the modern American’s extreme dearth of physical activity is our
modern world’s new anathema-and the problem is only going to increase in prevalence – many authorities suggest
the next generation will be the first in all of recorded human history in which one’s forebears enjoy a longer
lifespan than will their children – lifestyle, food choices and diet, and sedentary, automation and
artificially-harvested energy are just a few items among a long list of hypotheses for this.

The company’s investment in relatively high-cost and heavy-duty hardware such as the spatious and visually
pleasing architecture of the building’s design and components itself, any amenities, and to also include such
an emphasis on the physical, mental, and even emotional/social architecture of this is itself proof de facto
that ShareFile is in it for the long haul. Even if it were to get spun off by the parent company, with their
track record and style of management – whether bought out by a private group for any particular reason – this
company gives off a VERY bullish ‘vibe’ considering the present situation of IoT, increasing automation, and
so many other ‘big scary factors’ out there, I think even a so-called “black swan” event could leave
‘ShareFile’ intact and perhaps even at the advantage, depending on how certain cards are played.

It’s a very interesting world, and studying technology and how it interacts with humans requires an entirely
separate book. I’ve never done a review before, and so I am not sure if this will be considered too long or
off-topic (and thus removed)
Even the cafeteria food is allegedly quite edible 🙂

Everything I have read, seen, amd heard about Citrix ShareFile @ Raleigh (which is also located RIGHT in the
center of an obviously up-and-coming, rapidly developing part of this great nation – that is AKA the Research
Triangle – is without question both now and in the foreseeable future, assuming city, state, and county
governments can handle it and get it done “right” (visit and study the history and development of other great
cities…

I’m from New York City… a place where my heart still beats 😉 – nonetheless, like many large cities, it
became overdone and like a garden bed that’s been too densely planted to allow enough Air & Sun (Aeryn Sun..
lol, sci fi nerd show joke from “Farscape”)…

Grass is always greener, life elsewhere is always happier on the other side of those imaginary lines our human
brains function by drawing out and acting ok them. Not unlike an AI threat/survival analysis (PRED/PREY…lol
-Michael Crichton’s Ai “swarming nanobots” and their many errors…. but, I seriously digress; my main points
are as follows:

1. LOCATION
2. PEOPLE
3. ENVIRONMENT
4. PRODUCTIVITY
5. Job Satisfaction and Happiness on the job

6. A rapidly growing branch of a very well-established, both through time and trust, and the opportunity to
self-improve by the use if a free on-site full gym… That kind of “perk” is basically a *cash bonus
incentive* for those of us who already spend nearly four figures annually for their current gym memberships
(Though I’ve not seen the gym at Citrix; I don’t believe there is a pool there… but hey, it IS A workplace,
not a military-style heavy-industries operation like those of say, South Korea…

I don’t know enough to know for sure if I would be a good fit there, but I do know my slightly younger brother
absolutely loves the work environment there…. the freedom to take the initiative and/or to strictly punch
the clock… I *would assume* I would also enjoy it, but upward mobility is very important to me and my
brother has been there less than a year.

Ergo, it is too soon to say with certainty.

AND… almost forgot… also because, as they say, “You know what happens when you assume” LOL 🙂

Hope you enjoyed!

Bottom line here (literally, concerning my own text, lol) is that whatever info or stories I may have heard
about this workplace in particular is by no means perfection, nor Utopia… but it represents a great
opportunity to grow our own domestic tech sector right here on the mainland.

Everything I know about Raleigh – which is not much but more than enough – is why I’ve moved here from
Charlotte (yes, I knkw; many others will be able to say almost exaxtly whay I just said – al.ost VERBATIM –
but as a virtual PALINDROME! Haha!

For me, bll *me* for one, that this company’s Operations and HR management (acquisition and retention) is up
and online at this rather new Citrix ShareFile location (Raleigh, NC) with the latest and greatest of what the
area has to offer. Perhaps the immediate surrounding real estate could use a cash infusion… Shouldn’t be a
problem, IMHO; give it a couple of years. Use PostMates if ya don’t like the cafeteria…. lol… Rooftop
outdoor with a beautiful Raleigh city skyline view, I might add.

I was there for the fireworks showing this last 4th… and took enough video, auto and manual both, likewise
for stills.. that as I was uploading them I even wrote a little piece about downtown Raleigh and my reactions
to it all. By the time the fireworks began, I’d already burned out the batteries on both my Nikon DSLR and my
Sony Handycam, leaving me with my cell phone for the fireworks shots. I still haven’t gotten around to
uploading them to YouTube yet…. lol… they’re just not very impressive visually on the phone-cam..
especially compared to so many of the 4K and shot taken from onboard a drone… which are TRULY stunning to
behold; some of the most impressive shots one may ever see through artificial means (such as a TV screen)….

However, I will say, I must insist; fireworks are ALWAYS better IN PERSON not least because no sound system I
am aware of AT ALL could ever come close to reproducing the whole experience of a professional and masterfully
done art show as witnessed in reality; 🙂

================================== THE ONE ABOVE, IS TOO LONG TO POST AS AN EDIT. BELOW IS A COPY AND PASTE OF WHAT IS UP ON GOOGLE MAPS NOW.
